Nikon Assignment: The Perfect Portrait

This assignment is now closed.

More than just photographing a person, portraiture is about capturing an image that conveys honesty and sentiment to create an emotional dialogue with the viewer.

It’s an intricate medium: facial expression, aspect, exposure, light and shadow all combine to communicate the essence of the subject in a specific moment.

A photographer needs to be in tune with the subject and their surroundings – carefully composing and posing the subject to perfectly capture a magic moment.
