Capturing a moment of pure action is part of the thrill of photography. The right camera settings. The perfect position. It creates a magic moment.
Action photography is unlimited. It can illustrate anything from epic adventure to an extraordinary moment in everyday life – scoring that winning goal on the soccer field, landing an extreme jump on a dirt bike, or catching the perfect wave.
Our job as photographers is to live in the moment and capture something special in a single image – just like motion picture stills photographer and Nikon Ambassador, Jasin Boland, who’s photographed for Mad Max, The Matrix, and Mission Impossible 2 and 3.
Shutter speed is crucial to action photography – faster shutter, greater clarity- while a slower shutter speed can illustrate movement and sometimes yield highly creative results. Read more about How Jasin Boland gets the perfect action shot.
