Surf Life Saving – an Aussie icon gets a makeover
Surf Live Saving Australia are repositioning themselves to be more relevant to all Australians, not just patrolling members and people who visit the beach. This October SLS has had a makeover. Nikon ambassador Mark Watson was charged with shooting the photographic campaign on the Gold Coast. Using real members, the photos celebrate SLS and its place in Australian culture today: Australian for life. Nikon Australia is contributing $30 from the sale of every new Nikon D3100 DSLR between now and the end of the year to SLS, providing thousands of dollars to assist with the purchase and maintenance of vital rescue equipment, training and first aid supplies.
Back to School – Learn to make the most of your DSLR at Nikon School
In June 2010 Nikon School was launched with the ‘Introduction to DSLR’ course and courses for intermediate and advanced photographers are scheduled for the near future. These hands-on workshops are held in picturesque locations, making the most of landmarks, gardens and city scapes in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Courses are also running in conjunction with key events, like Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and the Australian Masters.
Spring into Fashion – Melbourne Spring Fashion Week
All the action from Melbourne’s largest consumer fashion event with official backstage photographer, Monty Coles and amateur photographers Alison Ryan and Jerwin Oxales. My Nikon Life members Alison and Jerwin won the ‘From the Hip’ assignment, giving them behind the scenes access and valuable time with professional photographers at this prestigious event.
Caught in the act – on-set with Jasin Boland
Sought after on-set photographer and Nikon Ambassador Jasin Boland shares his story and insights. You’ll already be familiar with Jasin’s work – he’s shot stills and poster images for many of the best action movies, including Mission Impossible 3, The Matrix trilogy and the Bourne series.
Wayne Quilliam – NAIDOC artist of the year
