Nikon 1 J5 receives iF Design Award 2016 recognition

Nikon 1 J5 iF Design Award 2016

Nikon 1 J5 wins high praise from the international design community for its elegant, contemporary design.

Nikon Australia is thrilled to announce that the new Nikon 1 J5 has been awarded the highly coveted iF Product Design Award for 2016.

The prestigious industrial product design award is sponsored by International Forum Design GmbH of Hanover Germany, and is widely recognised as a global benchmark in design excellence.

Judges scrutinised 5,295 entries from 53 countries across categories including product, communication and packaging design. A total of 1,821 products were awarded, with only 75 of them taking home the iF Gold Award.

The Nikon 1 J5

The Nikon 1 J5, in a elegant, simple and modern design, incorporates an effective pixel count of 20.8-million, a backside illumination CMOS sensor, and the EXPEED 5A image-processing engine.

It offers full-scale specs and superior operation with a high-speed, continuous shooting rate (approximately 20 fps with AF), support for 4K movie recording, and a tilting LCD monitor that makes self-portraits simple.

The iF Design Award

Since 1953, the iF Design Award provides participants with opportunity to find worldwide recognition in the categories of Product, Packaging, Communication, Interior Architecture and Professional Concept.

The disciplines of Architecture and Service Design are recent additions.
