NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S Primary Features

Overwhelmingly High Performance, Even in Low Light

With a constant f/2.8 aperture, this lens offers overwhelming rendering performance for both stills and movies. Nikon has incorporated various lenses that realise high aberration-correction performance with its original and newly developed Short-wavelength Refractive (SR) technology. As such, the lens can have high and specialised dispersion glass, featuring characteristics to greatly refract light with wavelength shorter than that of blue. Highly precise chromatic aberration compensation is realised by controlling short-wavelength light that is difficult to compensate. In addition, the lens is equipped with superior Vibration Reduction (VR) effect, which is equivalent to a shutter speed 5.5 stops** faster – the top class in the history of NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S lenses.

The lens is also fitted with a multi-focusing system*, with axial chromatic aberration effectively compensated across the shooting range from close distances to infinity. This contributes to delivering sharp resolution with minimal colour fringing at the front and rear of the focal plane. The multi-focusing system* ensures that it delivers superior imaging performance can be achieved even at a short distance.

The large aperture and the telephoto reach of the lens delivers dreamy quality and works well in low light conditions.

The lens also offers quiet operation thanks to the stepping motor, while varifocal support and stable aperture control delivers natural exposure changes to movies.

The NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S also has a lens informational panel which enables quick confirmation of aperture, focus distance and depth of field. Designed with two Fn buttons on the lens body, the lens gives you the flexibility to adapt to a variety of shooting postures, and the functions can be used to improve shooting. The lens also has a convenient control ring for aperture, exposure compensation and ISO sensitivity in a smooth and quiet manner.
