Announcing the new AF-S NIKKOR 400MM f/2.8E FL ED VR and AF-S Teleconverter TC-14E III


Nikon is pleased to announce the release of the AF-S NIKKOR 400MM f/2.8E FL ED VR, a super-telephoto, fixed focal length (prime) lens with a focal length of 400mm and maximum aperture of f/2.8.

Designed with fluorite lens elements, ED lens elements, and Nano Crystal Coat for superior optical performance, the AF-S NIKKOR 400MM f/2.8E FL ED VR responds to the needs of professional photographers who demand the ability to capture decisive moments with on-site sports and press photography.

The newly designed optical formula features 16 elements in 12 groups, including two fluorite and two ED lens elements. Designed to increase durability and boasting a professional-grade dust and moisture resistant construction, the fluorine coat applied to the front lens element effectively repels water, dust, and dirt without compromising image quality.

In addition to the fluorite lens elements, components made of magnesium alloy are fitted to the barrel to make the AF-S NIKKOR 400MM f/2.8E FL ED VR lighter and Nikon’s antireflective Nano Crystal Coat is employed to ensure clear images with minimal flare and ghosting.
