Nikon Key Mission I AM ON A MISSION 360, 170 & 80

Nikon KeyMission Action Camera Series introduces two new action cameras with the new KeyMission 170 and KeyMission 80, alongside the KeyMission 360

Nikon Australia is proud to announce the launch of the Nikon KeyMission action and wearable camera series, designed to help users shape and share their adventures, from the everyday to the extreme. Earlier this year, Nikon announced the KeyMission 360 – a tough, wearable action camera capable of recording true 360° video in 4K UHD. Today, Nikon unveils two more cameras in its action series, the KeyMission 170 and KeyMission 80.

With video increasingly becoming the centre of everyday communications, the KeyMission action cameras build on Nikon’s technical excellence in optical and image-processing technologies. The ability of the flagship KeyMission 360 to capture seamless 360° video in 4K UHD format will change the way people capture and share their experiences forever.

The KeyMission 170, which is shockproof and waterproof, captures dynamic 170° wide-angle 4K UHD videos and vivid images. With intuitive interfaces and simple controls, even first-time action camera users can record adventures effortlessly. Versatile shooting modes like Add Slow Motion, Superlapse Movie and Time-lapse Movie are available for creating dramatic scenes for any adventure.

The ultra-slim KeyMission 80 is a tough wearable camera designed for quick shooting of stills and movies, enabling users to record every moment of their experiences as it happens. Featuring an exclusively designed small NIKKOR lens, this compact camera enables capture of high quality images. It is equipped with a second camera with 4.9 million effective pixels and a LCD monitor for easy selfies.

In addition, the SnapBridge 360/170 app is exclusive to KeyMission 360 and KeyMission 170, which enables camera remote shooting and movie editing, while KeyMission 80 supports the SnapBridge app. Both SnapBridge apps allow the camera to be constantly connected to a smart device, providing a convenient and automatic transfer of photos from the action camera to the smart device.

Simultaneously, Nikon has introduced a wide range of optional mounts and accessories made to push the limit of the cameras across diverse activities. For hands-free shooting, Vented Handy Grip is also available to prevent the user’s body from being caught in the frame during handheld shooting. These versatile mounts and accessories will allow the camera to follow the toughest roads and scale the highest peaks.

“With two new additions to Nikon’s Action category, we’re excited to expand photographic possibilities for our users and enable them to capture their adventures. Now no matter the environment, our users can share and refine their adventures in immersive detail to re-live or share with family and friends,” said James Murray, Director of Sales & Marketing, Nikon Australia.

“The new KeyMission range features the standout optical and imaging innovation Nikon is known for and combines this with seamless smart device connectivity and an adventure-ready construction, to ensure that consumers can document and share their pursuits no matter where they are.”

Nikon KeyMission 360
1 While the resolution of recorded data is 4K UHD (3840 × 2160), the resolution at which movies are displayed with playback is dependent upon factors such as the display device used and the display magnification ratio
2 There are parts of the shooting/recording range that cannot be captured underwater because images are magnified more than they are on land. Therefore, 360° content cannot be captured underwater. When the underwater lens protectors are attached, the protectors are reflected in images as black borders or bands. The camera may be unable to capture subjects positioned 60 cm (2 ft.) or closer to the top, bottom, or either side of the camera because the subjects are not included in the angle of view (i.e., the area visible in the frame). Under some shooting conditions, the boundaries of the composited areas may be misaligned
3 JIS/IEC protection class 8 (IPX8) equivalent (under Nikon test conditions). The camera can be used at depths of up to 30 m (100 ft.) for up to 60 minutes. When the lens protectors are attached, it can be used at depths of approx. 20 m (65 ft.)
4 In-house tests have demonstrated MIL-STD 810F Method 516.5 shock resistance. When the lens protectors or underwater lens protectors are attached
5 Operation has been tested and approved at temperatures of −10°C to 40°C (14°F to 104°F) on land and 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) underwater
6 JIS/IEC protection class 6 (IP6X) equivalent (under Nikon test conditions)
