In partnership with Surfing Australia, Nikon is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2017 Nikon Surf Photo and Nikon Surf Video of the Year Awards.
The Nikon Surf Photo of the Year and Nikon Surf Video of the Year awards showcases the finest work taken by Australia’s best surf photographers and filmmakers during the past 12 months.
Nikon Surf Photo of the Year Award 2017
The Nikon Surf Photo of the Year Award is a prestigious award recognising the best single surfing-themed image taken during 2016 by an Australian photographer, with strict criteria including dramatic effect, sensory impact, composition, innovation and creativity. The photo can be taken anywhere around the world and can be drawn from action, water, lifestyle, line up or portrait photography. This year presented some outstanding entries featuring the best-of-the-best in Australian surfing photography.

Nikon Surf Video of the Year Award 2017
The Nikon Surf Video of the Year Award celebrates the best surf video of any length or format released in 2016 and filmed, produced or directed by an Australian citizen or resident.
The finalists for the 2017 Nikon Surf Video of the Year are:

Entry 2: The man & the sea by Andrew Kaineder
Entry 3: You And Me – The David ‘Barney’ Miller Story by Garage Entertainment
Entry 4: Bezerke by Andrew Kaineder
Entry 5: The Scandalous Dance Of Zakary Grey by Howard Groves
The winners of the Nikon Surf Photo and Nikon Surf Video of the Year awards will be announced the evening of 18 February 2017.
Winners of either category will receive a prize pool from Nikon worth over $5,500 – including the new KeyMission 170.
