Testimonial – Marcus Bell

Nikon Ambassador Marcus Bell

“In an era that’s increasingly important for photographers to be more discreet than ever, especially at wedding’s. For me the Df has arrived with perfect timing. Small in size, quiet shutter and a physical appearance that is far from looking like a digital camera. I’ve certainly noticed the ability to blend in rather than stand out, enabling me to capture the moments without others realising they have been captured or them ever feeling that I’ve encroached on their personal space. I’m in love with the Df, as it’s allowing me to do what I love doing the most, Photographing.”

The Df can analyse a subject’s setting, including brightness and colour, then applies information from the 2,016-pixel RGB sensor and image sensor to the autofocus, auto exposure, i-TTL balanced fill-flash and auto white balance control, all before the shutter is released.

39 point AF system

The Multi-CAM 4800 autofocus sensor module in the Df has 39 focus points that precisely acquire and track the subjects. Plus, there are nine cross-type sensors covering the most frequently used center area for higher focusing performance. it is also possible to choose an 11-point option by using custom settings You can also select from a range of AF modes, including single-point AF, dynamic-area AF and 3D-tracking.

Reviews

Australian Financial Review

Reviewer John Davidson said – Nikon’s image processing engine continues to be the best we’ve reviewed: its low-light, high-ISO JPEGs are so free of ugly digital noise you would swear they were shot on film.

InFocus

Not content to simply pump out a middling digital model in old-school duds, Nikon has come out with all guns blazing with the Df.

CNET

CNET recently reviewed the Nikon Df giving it 8.5/10
The Nikon Df is an excellent camera that delivers stellar image quality – Despite these usability quirks, the Df feels excellent in the hand. There is good weight distribution and the body certainly turns heads among those in the know.

Photo Review

Nikon Df rated 8.5/10 by Photo Review
Sports and wildlife photographers who record bursts of shots should have little to complain about with the Df’s 5.5 frames/second capture rate; nor with the generous memory buffer that can hold up to 100 JPEGs or 25 uncompressed raw files at the highest bit rate. Margaret Brown goes on to say – I actually welcomed the removal of movie recording because I’m not particularly interested in shooting video. Still photography is my passion and I find video requires a different mindset to be successful. And I didn’t miss Wi-Fi and GPS, because I seldom need to use them.

Herald Sun

4 stars
Enthusiasts will love this retro camera with it combination of old and new.

T3 Australia

One of the most handsome cameras T3’s clapped eyes on in a long time, the Nikon Df is a versatile DSLR with a super-clear, glass “pentaprism” viewfinder offering 100% frame coverage.
