Parklife 2012 with Hobogestapo – Sydney

Here is the second installment of our series on the Parklife tour, from Patrick Stevenson of blogging collective, Hobogestapo. Enjoy!

Parklife Sydney Day 2.

A new venue somehow has broken the 4 year bad weather spell, the sun is shining and the punters are ready to party. I wait for the sun to set and get my lurk on and spot the beautiful singer from Chairlift who is watching Tame Impala play from the media pit. I also wander the crowd and notice some people have made a mini bonfire in an effort to stay warm. I treck along to see Jack Beats play and spot my old mate Gus Da Hoodrat. My day finishes up with seeing The Presets blow apart the main stage and then sneak over to the Atoll stage to witness the amazing Robyn with her amazing outfits and Euro dance moves, next stop, PERTH.

: Tame Impala brought a massive crowd to the stage, and gave Sydney-siders their first taste of new album, Lonerism, live. The first single, Elephant, went off!

: Even Caroline Polachek from Chairlift was in the pit enjoying Tame Impala.

: As I left Tame Impala, I noticed this girl, hanging out by herself. She was beautiful so I had to take her photo. Holler if you’re out there, mystery girl.

: I moved to the Sahara stage and Nero were blowing up! This was the safest distance from the stage.

: Sydney had it’s fair share of cool kids. I like this chicks steeze.

: Heaps of blokes were getting around in Indian head dresses this year… it doesn’t work fellas, leave it for the girls.

: It was stupidly cold that night, so these clever punters decided to start a mini bonfire, using cups, plastic, anything they could find.

: Another, more legit way to stay warm…

: Jack Beats killing it on the Kakadu stage. Amazing visuals, apparently designed by the same guys who do Daft Punks live shows!

: Jack Beats up close. These guys rule.

: Sexy girls down the front row getting in to it.

: Justice smashing it out on the main stage. I saw every one of their sets. Always amazing.

: Bang Gang DJ, Gus da Hoodrat, lurking around the site. Gus had this amazing neon light rope thing, which was entertaining for about 3 minutes.

: Girls and music, everything a growing boy needs

: The KUHLEKTIV kids from Sydney, creating some amazing photos. Watch out for them!

: The HOBO kids, myself and The Kid, aka Thomas Walk. I love this dude, in a bro way.

: Hobogestapo’s “The Kid”, wearing the latest in festival fashion

: The Presets going large on the Sahara stage. There were way too many photographers in the pit, so I just stood back and admired the show.

: Up close with The Presets. Their show was amazing

: Robyn was a stand out for me. Her costumes, dance moves and incredible voice did not let me down once.

: A bevy of fine ladies were present at every Robyn show

: A wild male Robyn fan appears in the front row!
