Nikon Walkley Awards 2012 - Entries Open!
The Nikon-Walkley Press Photo Awards competition is open for 2012, inviting journalists from around Australia to submit their best work produced between 1st September, 2011 and 31st August, 2012.
The Nikon-Walkley Press Photography Awards are the most prestigious competition for photojournalists in Australia. Nikon proudly sponsors the awards in seven categories including; News Photography, Daily Life, Sport, Photographic Essay, Portrait, Community/Regional Photography and the Nikon-Walkley Press Photographer of the Year.
The Press Photographer of the Year 2011, Phil Hillyard, had this to say about his experience of entering the Nikon-Walkleys: “For me, preparing to enter the Walkleys is way of looking back at your work over the past year. Once you’ve entered a few times, It also gives you a chance to see how your work is changing or progressing over the years. I would always encourage photographers to enter”.
