The 2012 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) launches on Thursday March 8 with over a week of must see fashion and cultural events. Nikon are proud to be the official camera and lens partner of what is widely regarded as the world’s largest consumer fashion event. LMFF launches the collections from Australia’s leading designers and consumer brands and beauty looks from L’Oréal Paris.

To celebrate the start of the festival, over 3,000 guests will experience the Opening Event presented by David Jones on Thursday March 8 at Central Pier.

Melbourne’s Docklands will be transformed into a magical open air fashion infused block party as industry and guests come together to enjoy the best in Australian fashion, music and entertainment to open the 2012 Festival.

Live on stage is an all Australian line up including up and coming band Canyons, electropop duo Van She Tech, prominent Melbourne based house music DJ, Grant Smilie, one of Australia‟s most prolific young DJ‟s and “Friend of the Festival” Andy Murphy and former front man of ARIA award-winning outfit 1200 Techniques, Nfa, will perform with DJ Peril.

On the runway David Jones will further cement its commitment to Melbourne by presenting two prestigious runway shows at 7.30pm and 9.00pm. Showcasing exceptional fashion from Australian designers such as Alex Perry, Carla Zampatti, Bassike, Kirrily Johnston, Bianca Spender and many more.
