Service Advisory for Nikon D600 Digital-SLR Camera

Notice to users of the Nikon D600 digital-SLR camera regarding dust and/or foreign matter on the D600 Low-pass Filter

Thank you for choosing Nikon for your photographic needs.

Some users have indicated the appearance of multiple granular dust spots in images captured with the Nikon D600 digital-SLR camera. These granular dust spots are reflections of internal dust generated with camera operation, or external dust particles that have found their way into the camera, either, or both of which, have adhered to the camera’s low-pass filter.

While the structure and concept of digital-SLR cameras makes the complete elimination of these dust spots very difficult, it has come to our attention that, in some rare cases, they may be reflected noticeably in images. Therefore, Nikon is informing users of a service to reduce this issue.

Resolution
As a first step, please follow the guidance from the User’s Manual (pages 301-305) related to the “Clean Image Sensor” function and manual cleaning using a blower. If these measures do not remove all dust particles and you are still experiencing problems, then please consult your nearest Nikon service center. They will keep your camera, examine it thoroughly, and service it as needed.

Please click here for a list of Nikon Service Centre(s) in your region.

We hope that you will continue to choose Nikon for your photographic needs.

Gilmore continues to win international accolades including the 2010 Laureus Action Sports Person of the Year Award and the 2011 ESPN ESPY Female Action Sports Person of the Year.

“I always feel like these awards are premature for myself, because I’m nowhere near retiring but it is very flattering and I love that my achievements in surfing are being recognised on larger scales”.

Nikon Australia’s First Social Film - #ShareAWord

In celebration of the release of the first Smart Camera built on the Android™ platform, the COOLPIX S800c, Nikon Australia called on the community to #ShareAWord on Instragram to help create their first social film.

Award winning film maker, Jason Van Genderen, was tasked with curating the words into a story about ‘humanity/the world’ – a theme selected by the community. Jason worked closely with Jon Roy (composer of Jason’s Tropfest NY 2008 winning film, ‘Mankind Is No Island’) to create this beautiful story that was premiered at Tropfest Sydney on Sunday February 17th 2013.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this film.
