Photography has always been a central part of Jackie’s life purchasing her first camera at the age of 15.

After emigrating to Australia with three young children, Jackie and her commercial photographer husband, Tim Dean, set up business in Sydney. Jackie studied Diploma of Photography at Sydney Institute for 3 years and joined the AIPP in 1993. She specialises in commercial photography, architecture, corporate portraiture, products and wildlife and also has travelled the world shooting destination stories in Mongolia, Argentina, Africa, Europe and NZ. Jackie has served on the AIPP Board as National Treasurer, President and Chairman from2000 – 2010. Being the first female National President, she stamped her vision on the profession.

Her photographic successes include being a Master of Photography as well as a Fellow of the AIPP, the highest honour awarded to a member of the Institute. Jackie has also been a member of Nikon Professional Services (NPS) since its inception. She is also a Fellow of the NZIPP. Jackie was the 1996 AIPP Commercial Photographer of the Year and AIPP Editorial Photographer of the Year in 2002. She has been accepted into the ACMP Collection twice, the AIPP Travelliing Collection, The Black & White Spyder Awards and is the 2011winner of the $20,000 International Loupe Awards. Her most recent achievement was being selected as a finalist for the ANZANG South Australian Museum Wildlife Competition.
