I was lucky enough to visit Xi’an, China in December 2006. I loved this city! This photo was taken in the Muslim Quarter street markets. The markets are a spectacle to behold and a delight to the senses. December is cold (it’s mid winter) and this photo is of mulled apple cider. To me, the photo captures the essence of the markets – simple food presented in a visually appealing way. I took many photos during my trip to China, but this is the one that transports me back to that special afternoon and evening wandering the Xi’an street food markets.
