Nikon Australia is pleased to announce their sponsorship of high profile Australian actress and TV celebrity Holly Brisley for her forthcoming 12 day trek to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro as part of an annual event organised by the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.

Nikon Australia has generously pledged a substantial sum of money to Humpty Dumpty Foundation & Holly Brisley who must personally raise $50,000 to participate in the climb.

Humpty Dumpty Foundation

Established in 1996, the Humpty Dumpty Foundation is committed to improving the condition of children’s health services across the nation. It now supports over 60 children’s hospitals and health services across Australia, as well as two children’s hospitals in East Timor.

Holly Brisley

Holly Brisley, best known for her role in Australian TV show Home & Away, has just completed filming as the lead role (TARA) in the US film Sinbad and the Minotaur in Queensland following the birth of her son Levi last year. Holly did not hesitate to sign for the climb after hearing a moving speech by The Hon. Joe Hockey MP at the Foundation’s annual ball in 2009.

“I am so grateful to Nikon for assisting me on this adventure, I am also very excited to be able to document the climb on the camera Nikon are providing me with” said Holly Brisley.

Also checkout Holly in the My Nikon Life assignment “Deconstruction of a Profile Pic”, and you could win the ultimate profile pic experience worth $5000 (there’s 3 to be won!).

Humpty’s Kilimanjaro climb

Each trekker must raise or personally donate $50,000 to join Humpty’s Kilimanjaro climb. Nikon Australia spokesperson Stuart Mitchell believes the trek is a fantastic initiative, and encourages others to follow suit and support the actress in reaching her goal of $50k.

“Nikon Australia is committed to making a difference in the community, and we are more than pleased to partner with Holly in improving the lives of sick children through the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.”

Nikon Australia will be providing Brisley with a camera to document the ups and downs of what is sure to be an extremely challenging journey, both physically and mentally. The content will be posted on Nikon’s new interactive website www.mynikonlife.com.au – an online photography community dedicated to capturing unique moments.
