With the release of the COOLPIX S1000pj, the world’s first digital camera with a built-in projector, in October 2009, Nikon introduced new ways to enjoy a digital camera with the ability to project and share images captured with the camera. Nikon has increased the ways in which the built-in projector can be used, equipping the COOLPIX S1100pj with a PC input allowing the device to project computer data in addition to photographs and video footage.

With a simple touch of a button, the camera projects data, photos or movie clips on any flat surface at up to 120cm in size. Pictures can be projected individually, or as slide shows complete with music and added effects that enhance the experience.

The S1100pj features a 3-inch TFT LCD touch screen monitor enabling intuitive camera operation and 6 filter effects for altering images on the fly –

• Colour options modify colours and tones of each image
• Soft emphasizes the subject by blurring the area surrounding the point that is tapped.
• Selective colour keep one specified colour in the picture and change other colours to black and white.
• Cross screen produce star shapes with lines radiating outward from bright objects such as reflected sunlight or city lights.
• Fisheye lens effect
• Miniature effect created by sharpening the centre of the image and blurring portions at the top and bottom of the image.

COOLPIX S5100
