Judges Comments: Weighing in at a mere approximately 96 g and measuring approximately 51.2mm high, 77mm wide, and 17.2mm deep, the camera delivers a shutter speed range of 1-1/2000 seconds, an ISO range of 80-1600, and can also record HD video in MOV mode (MPEG-4 and AVC/H.264). New Firmware Update for COOLPIX P7700 Now Available

Nikon would like to advise that a new firmware update for COOLPIX P7700 is now available for download.

This latest update improves:

• The accuracy for the virtual horizon according to the direction in which the camera is pointed.
• The interval between shots with uninterrupted shooting when “Auto bracketing” is set to “Exposure bracketing” has been reduced.
• Resolves an issue that prevented shutter speeds slower than one second for the second and subsequent shots when shooting with “Auto bracketing” set to “Exposure bracketing”.

Five Nikon Digital Cameras Receive the 2013 red dot Product Design Award

Nikon D3200 – C ver. 1.01
The following functions have been changed with shooting using the Wireless Mobile Utility:
• When the camera’s shooting mode is set to Auto or Auto (flash off), it now operates in Auto or Auto (flash off) mode. Prior to this upgrade, the camera functioned in [P] (Programmed auto) exposure mode.
• Live view can now be initiated even when the camera is set to “Auto” or “No flash” in GUIDE mode.

The AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G also made a good impression, selected for Editor’s choice as a prime lens that can be used with all Nikon interchangeable-lens cameras.
Awarded the rating of 8.8, the AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G is a “reasonably fast standard lens for general-purpose use with Nikon’s FX cameras” and functions as a “fast portrait lens for Nikon’s DX cameras.”
